Opening Reception: Saturday, December 12th from 5-7pm.

Elissa Gore opens solo exhibit in Franklin, NY PDF Print E-mail

The Viviana Hansen Gallery in Franklin NY is proud to announce it's first solo Art Exhibition featuring works by nationally acclaimed painter Elissa Gore.Gore's works are meditations on harmony in nature. She paints large, atmospheric landscapes and looks for places where the balance of natural elements: sky, earth, trees and water evoke a sense of "stopped time." This artist delights in changes in the atmosphere and the color of light. In these paintings, color and experience resonate to create form. Gore has exhibited widely, both in solo and group exhibitions across the United States. She has received many awards in national juried exhibitions, including the bronze medal from the Baltimore Watercolor Society and merit awards from the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors and the Watercolor Society of Alabama. The Cooperstown Art Association has honored her with awards five times in the past ten years. She is a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Catskill Center (New York State) and The Hambidge Center (Georgia.) Besides many private collections, her works are displayed in over forty corporations, including American Express, Federal Reserve Bank of NY, Fidelity Investments, Hallmark, McGraw-Hill, Morgan Bank, Pfizer, TIAA/CREF, USAA, the U. S. State Department and the Vanguard Group.

Born in Philadelphia, she studied painting and sculpture at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts and medical Illustration at the University of Texas. She has taught at Parsons School of Design, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Pace University and the New York Botanical Garden. Currently, she devotes all her time to landscape painting at her studio is in Northern Manhattan and upstate New York. Viviana Hansen Gallery is located at 422 Main Street in the historic village of Franklin, NY. Artist Opening Reception is Saturday, October 10 from 4-6pm. All are welcome to attend. Celia Clark opens solo exhibit in Delhi, NY PDF Print E-mail

Viviana Hansen Gallery is pleased and honored to present the paintings of Delaware County native Celia Clark opening October 17 and continuing through November 22, 2009.  There will be a reception for the artist on Saturday, October 17, from 5pm to 7pm. All are welcome. Celia Clark, who is best known for her magnificent watercolors of rural Delaware County, will display a collection of paintings ranging from rural landscapes, farmscapes, still-life's and portraits. Celia Clark’s studies of nature are wide-ranging but all connected by her clear observation, understanding and affection for her subjects. Painting with a highly detailed eye, she has received many prestigious awards, is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society, and the Central New York Watercolor Society. She continues to exhibit widely in regional and national exhibitions including the American Watercolor Society International Exhibition, The National Watercolor National Exhibition, The Adirondack National Exhibition of American Watercolors, Watercolor West, and Watercolor U.S.A. Celia Clark was born and raised on a dairy farm in Delhi, NY. Ralph William McRae - Memorial Service in Franklin, NY PDF Print E-mail

Ralph William McRae 1945-2009. It is with great sadness that we report the death of Ralph William McRae on October 11. Ralph was a respected painter, photographer and fly fisherman. His work, "A Visual Journey" will remain on view at the gallery through October 25. Recognized in the Catskill area as a landscape painter of the Hudson River School style, he exhibited his work in New York City and various galleries throughout the region. Besides his passionate interest in fine art, he was a sportsman - avid fly fisherman, marksman and motorcycle enthusiast. He studied advertising design at Pratt Institute; film, photography, and video at CCAC, Oakland, CA; art history at University of California, Berkeley, CA. In NYC he had a career as photographer, graphic artist and art director. He moved to Treadwell in the late 1980's to pursue his love of painting and to be near trout streams. His artistic goal was "to depict honest, precise moments of nature's beauty." A life long bachelor, he is survived by his sister, Anne McRae Lynn of Fort Gaines, GA, a nephew, Eric R. Lynn of Phoenix, AZ, a niece, Brenda Lynn-Smith of Rye, England and five great nieces. I
